The Bhartiya Shiksha Board is a National Education Board established under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The Class X and Class XII certificates issued by BSB carry full equivalence with other national boards, including CBSE and ICSE, and are formally recognized by apex bodies such as the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), University Grants Commission (UGC), and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), as well as all major State Governments.

As a result, students passing Class X and XII from BSB are eligible for admission to Central, State, and Private Universities, and for Engineering, Medical, Professional, and Technical courses, subject to prevailing eligibility criteria. The certificates are also valid for Central and State Government services.
