NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said his government is ready for discussion on all matters in the upcoming Monsoon session of the Parliament, said Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi.
Joshi quoted the prime minister at the meeting to say that the various floor leaders were told that the government was ready for a “healthy and meaningful discussion” on various issues raised as per rules and procedures.
The meeting saw the participation of over 30 parties, with prominent opposition faces such as Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury attending the meeting.
The government had called an all-party meeting on Wednesday ahead of the Monsoon session of Parliament, which is slated to begin tommorrow.
Besides Modi, defence minister Rajnath Singh, Union minister and Leader of House in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal were present in the meeting.
TMC’s Derek O’ Brien, Tiruchi Siva from the DMK, Samajwadi Party leader Ram Gopal Yadav and BSP’s Satish Mishra were also present.
Apna Dal leader and NDA ally Anupriya Patel and LJP leader Pashupati Paras also attended the meeting.
The Monsoon session begins on July 19 and would conclude on August 13. This would be first session of the Parliament since the Union Cabinet reshuffle.
