New Face Vishal Shetty Draws Attention as Judge Roy D’Souza in Star Plus’ Show Anupamaa’s Culinary Track

Actor Vishal Shetty has entered Star Plus’ popular show Anupamaa as Roy D’Souza, who viewers are already calling their favourite judge in the ongoing culinary competition track.
The storyline sees Anupamaa, played by Rupali Ganguly, competing alongside Prem, played by Shivam Khajuria. Amid the tension and personal equations surrounding the contestants, Roy remains calm and impartial, evaluating every performance on merit.
Vishal is also being noticed for his natural grasp of the character and composed screen presence. His striking looks have sparked conversation too, with several female viewers playfully appreciating his strong “face card.”
Before joining Anupamaa, Vishal was seen in Sony TV’s Jubilee Talkies. He has also built professional experience across advertising and fashion, appearing in campaigns and commercials, modelling for fashion brands and walking the ramp at Times Fashion Week.
Speaking about joining the show, Vishal said, “I am truly grateful for this opportunity and for getting to play a character like Roy. I deeply relate to him in real life, especially his vibrant personality and the way he remains fair and composed when it matters. I am also thankful to the cast and crew, who made the entire journey feel so comfortable that I never once felt like the new person on set.”
Roy’s character required someone who could bring together several different qualities. Vishal’s own journey reflects a similar balance.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, he also has a creative side shaped by his experience in acting, modelling and dance.
