3 min readSuccess is no one-night glory, it is hard work, perseverance, studying, sacrifice, and learning that makes it happen. Most of all, it is loving what you do and believes in yourself. Stories like those of Khawaja Itrat, inspire us to think that every success is attainable if you have the correct mindset for it.
Khawaja Itrat is a 24-year-old Entrepreneur, mentor, and Social Worker. He was an orphan from when he was 12, his parents died in 2008 and 2011 respectively. This great loss at such tender age always pursued him to do something great in his life. He is a very generous person and likes helping people who are in need. He is also interested in coming up with a solution for problems that trouble us by using technology. This dynamic personality is now the founder of a personality development firm, a restaurant chain, and a food delivery business.
He pursued B.Tech at Chandigarh engineering college in 2015. While in college, he found that Kashmiri students are good in academics but lack soft skills like presentation, public speaking & more. To help students overcome this drawback, he founded a student organization named J&K Student Organisation. He used to organize events, debates & discussions for J&K Students along with the other members.
In 2019, after the Pulwama attack, he helped thousands of Kashmiri students to reach their homes. When he came back to Kashmir after finishing his studies, he founded a company named ‘Academic Pathways Private Limited’. The company aimed to make children confident & competent by developing their personality EQ & IQ. It was going well for a while and then there was lockdown all over India hence the work got restricted for a while.
Itrat noticed that the condition of the Bandipora district where he lived was turning worse due to the Covid19 crisis. Hence, he founded an NGO named Khawaja Itrat foundation, to help needy people and serve society in other ways. His NGO also provided 400 food kits and essential medicines to poor families. He distributed food and other items among the needy people who have been facing a lot of hardships during the Covid19 crisis in Kashmir. For his services during the lockdown, HDFC bank presented him with the HDFC Neighbourhood hero award.
Not many facilities were available after the lockdown in this rural district so he decided to solve this problem. He made a website to help the administration with contact tracing. Later on, when the administration was finding difficulty in supplying essentials to people, he started a door-to-door delivery system. The mechanism used with this working website was to tie up with local vendors and then they started giving home delivery. They used to deliver essentials & life-saving medicines just within three days. This concept helped a lot at that time for all those who weren’t able to leave their homes for groceries and medicines.
After the first wave of Covid19, he resumed Academic Pathways and started providing physical classes at two locations. Being a new concept in Kashmir, it gained popularity with time. Meanwhile, he wanted to continue that delivery system and also step into the food industry. Hence, he started his food & medicine delivery business ‘Hyper Go’ in north Kashmir. After a while, he opened up his own restaurant ‘Cook Book’ after the positive response of customers. All the businesses he has ever created are done without any initial investment. He started his own business with a few thousand bucks and later expanded it with his money management skills.
Today, he successfully runs a personality development company, a food delivery business, and a restaurant chain. Earning from zero to now earning a handsome amount of money was not an easy path, especially when the whole world was going through a pandemic. He is thankful to God for blessing him with the wisdom to plan and execute all this.
He plans to expand his venture Academic Pathways to the whole of India with the help of multiple branches. He wants the food delivery business Hyper Go to start all over India and also to own more franchises of the Cook Book restaurant.
