BATHINDA: Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM), upon taking serious note of the utterances of Haryana-based farm organisation BKU (Charuni) President Gurnam Singh Charuni, has decided to suspend Charuni for a week from the morcha. During this period, he has been asked to restrain from speaking anything that offends the ongoing farmer’s protest and will not be allowed to address from the SKM stage.
Charuni had been repeatedly asking the Punjab-based farmer leaders to jump in the political arena, he said that there is dire need to take Mission Punjab forward while Mission UP could wait. The 32 farm organisations of Punjab in a meeting on Tuesday denounced the agenda of Charuni in a voice vote and prepared ground for action against Charuni for trying to steer the farmers’ struggle in the political direction. They believe that the primary aim of the farmers is to strengthen the fight against the central government and force it to repeal the contentious farm laws.
As per the suggestions of the Punjab farm organisations, the SKM completely rejected the utterances of Charuni and decided to start with much-awaited Mission UP to unseat BJP from power. The SKM decided to hold a national panchayat at Muzzafarnagar, UP on September 5 where farm leaders across states will assemble and sound the bugle of opposition against BJP.
“The agenda will be further intensified in coming months. The farmers’ fight will start heading towards peaking in November 2021”, said senior farm leader Balbir Singh Rajewal and Yudhvir Singh.
