Question : Marketing keeps changing with all these new technologies. How do you keep up?

Yogesh Thakur: I always stay curious. Learning new things for me is as normal as checking my emails. I don’t just try to keep up with changes; I aim to be one step ahead. Every day, I make it a point to read up on new stuff, try out new technologies, or just listen to what customers have to say.

Question :  Can you give us an example of how learning has helped you in your job?

Yogesh Thakur: Sure! Let’s talk about AI, or artificial intelligence. It’s not just a hot topic; it’s a powerful tool. By understanding how AI works, I can guess what customers might do next, make our marketing more personal, and save time by automating tasks. This didn’t happen overnight. It came from constantly trying new things and seeing how they work.

Question : You started in engineering. How does that help you with marketing?

Yogesh Thakur: Engineering taught me to look at the big picture and see how different parts fit together. This is super important in marketing, where everything affects everything else. My background helps me make sense of numbers and turn them into stories that people can relate to.

Question :  Everyone’s talking about starting their own business, but you’ve done really well working for someone else. What do you think about that?

Yogesh Thakur: Entrepreneurship has its merits, but there’s also immense value in intrapreneurship—bringing an entrepreneurial mindset to one’s role within a company. I approach my job as if it were my own enterprise. This means assuming responsibility, being proactive, and consistently seeking avenues for personal and professional expansion.

Question : You moved up pretty quickly at Omaxe Limited. What do you think helped you do that?

Yogesh Thakur: It was about being in the right place at the right time and being ready to learn and adapt. Getting promoted so fast was a surprise, but it showed me that I was doing something right. I tried to bring not just my skills but also ideas that would help the company grow.

Question :  What advice do you have for someone just starting in marketing?

Yogesh Thakur: Be curious about everything and see challenges as chances to learn more. The tools we use in marketing will always change, but the main idea stays the same: understand what people need and figure out creative ways to meet those needs.

Question : What do you think the future looks like for marketers?

Yogesh Thakur: We’re heading into a really exciting time with things like the metaverse, AI, and strategies based on data. The big question is how we’ll use these new ideas to create experiences that feel real and personal for customers. No matter what new tech comes out, the key will always be to keep learning, adjusting to changes, and putting what we learn into action.
